Do you happen to have any leftover roses from Valentine's day or from your birthday? If so, don't throw them away. Instead, use the flowers to make homemade rosewater.  Not only does rosewater smell amazing, but it's packed with several beauty benefits for the hair and skin. It's simple to make because it only requires two ingredients and around 20-30 minutes of your time. If you want to learn how easy it is to make natural rosewater, let's begin!

BENEFITS OF USING ROSE WATER:
  • Rosewater helps balance the skin's PH
  • Contains anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce redness and skin irritation
  • It hydrates the skin
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

INGREDIENTS:
  • Roses (Preferably Organic)
  • Distilled Water

SUPPLIES:
  • Pot
  • Glass Container

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.) Remove the petals from the stems and carefully rinse under lukewarm water to remove any leftover dirt.

2.) Put the rose petals in a pot and add enough distilled water to cover the petals.

3.) Over medium heat, bring the water to a simmer and cover.

4.) Let it simmer until the rose petals lose their color (to a pale red.)

5.) Once the rosewater has cooled, strain the mixture to separate the petals from the water.

6.) Discard the petals and pour the rose water into a glass container. (Store in the refrigerator)

HOW TO USE ROSEWATER:

 1.) AS A TONER.

Using rosewater as a natural toner is really simple. All you have to do is soak a cotton pad in rosewater. Lightly spread it over your face and neck before moisturizing your skin.

2.) SETTING SPRAY.

Add the rosewater to a spray bottle and mist on the face to freshen up or to set your makeup.

3.) MOISTURIZER.

In a spray bottle, add the rosewater, your favorite carrier oil, and glycerin. Shake the bottle well to combine all of the ingredients. You can use this spray to hydrate your face, body, or hair.

4.) HAIR TREATMENT.

After shampooing and conditioning your hair, rinse your hair with rosewater, but don't rinse out.

5.) NATURAL PERFUME.

Rosewater smells amazing and works great as a natural perfume for your hair and body. All you have to do is add the solution to a spray bottle and add your favorite essential oils. Then simply spritz where ever you'd like.
