Mushroom Veggie Burger

Burgers have always been my weakness, so finding a quick and easy veggie burger recipe has been my mission for a while. After trying out several different recipes, I found a delicious mushroom patty recipe you'll want to make over and over again! Seriously, it's that delicious!


INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 Portabello mushrooms caps
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste
FOR SERVING:
  • Buns
  • Lettuce or spinach
  • Sliced tomato
  • Sliced avocado
  • Sliced Onion
  • Vegan cheese or any kind you'd prefer
DIRECTIONS:

1.) Clean and remove the stems from the portobello mushrooms, and place them in a shallow bowl.

2.) In a separate bowl, mix together the olive oil, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, seasoning, salt, and pepper.

3.) Pour the mixture over the portobello mushrooms and toss to mix everything well.

4.) Set it aside and leave it at room temperature for 15-20 minutes turning the mushrooms a couple of times.

5.) Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat, and place the portobello mushrooms. Allow them to cook for 5-7 minutes on each side. 

Optional: Add cheese on top of the mushrooms for 1 minute before removing the mushrooms from the grill.

6.) Top with desired toppings and enjoy!
