How To Start A Gratitude Journal

by - January 03, 2020

To begin the new year, I wanted to try something different and start a gratitude journal. I've never owned one before and thought this year was the perfect opportunity to try one out. Keeping a gratitude journal has many amazing qualities that can help benefit you in many different ways. It will help you gain a more positive and peaceful mindset. You'll start to appreciate the simple things in life, and realize you don't need much to be happy. You'll also be able to look back on all the good memories you've had throughout the year, and see how far you've come. Practicing gratitude daily will attract positive energy towards you and your surroundings. Overall, resulting in a much healthier lifestyle.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET START

  • A great spot to place your journal would be by your nightstand. Before heading to bed, you'll have the opportunity to write in your notebook what you felt grateful for that day. It's also a great excuse to stop using electronic devices like your phone or tv to help you relax before going to sleep.

  • The second thing you'll need is a routine to write in the journal every single day or every other day. For example, you can pick 3-4 days out of the week to write in the notebook. You can choose the morning or the evening, whatever works best for you. What's important is that you're consistent with it.  If you need to, set an alarm on your phone or write it down in your calendar to remind yourself.

WHAT TO WRITE IN YOUR GRATITUDE JOURNAL

  • Each day, write about different topics you are grateful for.
  • Write with sincerity and love.
  • Write about what you are thankful for today, and write the reasons why.
  • Focus on what makes you happy.
  • Write about someone you are thankful for and why.
  • Write 3 qualities you are grateful for about yourself and why.
  • Add 5 things you are grateful for in your life and why.

Alright, guys, that's it for today, I hope this post inspired you to start a gratitude journal this year. It's a very simple but powerful way of bringing more positivity and happiness into your life. Within a few weeks, you'll notice how your life starts to change for the better. Until next time...
