DIY Detox Clay Mask

by - August 01, 2020

Nothing screams spa, like a proper facial, treating yourself with a detox face mask 3-4 times a month can remove the build of impurities, even out the skin tone, smooth the skin, and get rid of toxins. When I first tried this clay face mask, I was surprised by how well it worked, and by how much brighter and healthier my skin looked. Making a quality clay mask is simple, consists of only 3 ingredients, and can be made in less than 5 minutes.

WHY THESE 3 INGREDIENTS?

BENTONITE CLAY: Bentonite clay doesn't only work to remove harmful toxins from your skin, but it also removes dirt from your pores, helps heal acne, softens the skin, exfoliates dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and is antibacterial.

CHAMOMILE TEA: Chamomile tea has several benefits for the skin, and due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it helps fight against acne, fades dark spots, treats acne scars, and relieves dry/patchy skin. Chamomile tea also reduces eye puffiness, soothes the skin, reduces dark under-eye circles, and nourishes the skin.

VITAMIN E OIL: Vitamin E oil contains anti-aging properties, lightens dark spots, gets rid of dark circles, and moisturizes dry skin.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
  • 2 tbsp clay powder
  • 3 tbsp of cooled chamomile tea or green tea (adjust depending on the consistency you want)
  • 1 tsp of vitamin E oil
TOOLS NEEDED:
  • Glass bowl
  • Wooden stick or spoon

DIRECTIONS:

1.) In a small bowl, combine the bentonite clay, chamomile tea, and vitamin E oil.

2.) Mix all of the ingredients until the mask becomes smooth.

3.) Apply the mask evenly on the face, avoiding the eyes and the mouth.

4.) Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes, rinse off with cold water, and moisturize.
