DIY MARBLE CLAY EARRINGS
A few months ago, I made my first pair of rose earrings using polymer clay. This time I wanted to try a different design that's been really popular, and unlike anything I've ever owned. I've seen them everywhere and are usually priced around 20-30 dollars. Surprisingly they are easy to make, not to mention all the different styles to choose from, but for today we'll be focusing on a marble design.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Polymer Clay In Several Colors
- Rolling Pin
- Exacto Knife
- Pliers
- Jump Rings
- Earring Posts
DIRECTIONS:
BROWN MARBLE DESIGN:
1.) Pick one solid color (I picked brown) and gently roll it into the desired thickness.
2.) Pick 2 more complementary colors, and roll each one into a snake.
4.) Combine all of the colors by twisting them together.
5.) Roll the clay into a ball and flatten it using a rolling pin.
6.) Use anything round to cut the clay into a circle.
7.) Carefully cut the circle in half, you should end up with 2 marble semi-circles and 2 brown circles.
8.) With anything sharp, poke a hole on top of the clays.
9.) Bake the clay according to the instructions on the pack.
10.) Once the clay has cooled, attach the jump rings and glue the earring posts to each earring.
PINK MARBLE DESIGN:
1.) Pick 2-3 secondary colored clays and roll each color into thin snakes.
2.) Combine all of the colors by twisting them together.
3.) Continue to do this until the colors blend together, and you achieve the marble effect.
4.) Next, roll the clay into a ball and flatten it using a rolling pin.
5.) Use cookie cutters or anything round to cut the shape of the earrings, making 3 circles in total.
6.) Carefully cut 1 of the circles in half, you should end up with 2 semi-circles and 2 full circles.
7.) With a needle or anything sharp, poke a hole on top of the 4 clays.
8.) Bake the clay according to the instructions on the pack.
